Job summary

Deercreekseniorliving is seeking a Maintenance Director to lead the ongoing preventative maintenance of our community facilities, grounds, and equipment. The role includes coordinating with licensed vendors and supporting residents with moving and minor repairs.

The ideal candidate brings experience in building maintenance and team management, and has knowledge of plumbing, HVAC, electrical, and mechanical systems. A valid driver's license is required.

About the Opportunity

Our senior living community is currently seeking a Maintenance Director to join our team of dedicated professionals who want to make a difference in the lives of our residents, their families and our community.

Responsibilities

The Maintenance Director is responsible for the ongoing preventative maintenance of the facility building, equipment and grounds and for troubleshooting maintenance problems when they arise. They ensure that maintenance services are available for emergency needs that may arise outside of regular working hours. The Director performs most tasks independently and utilizes properly licensed vendors approved by administration for assistance with tasks when needed. They assist residents with moving and minor repairs.

• Practices good safety awareness and follows safety procedures, including infection control measures where applicable.
• Ability to be self‑supervising and self‑motivating.
• Ability to set priorities and complete tasks in a timely manner.
• Must demonstrate a positive, courteous and respectful attitude to residents, families, staff and visitors.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience in building maintenance and in managing a team.
• Knowledge of plumbing, including the design and mechanics of commodes, plumbing fixtures, drains, discharge lines, hot water heaters, dishwashers, ice machines.
• Knowledge of HVAC, including general principles of HVAC and heat pump operation and mechanics, and refrigeration.
• Knowledge of electricity, including wiring, voltage, amperage.
• Knowledge of mechanics, including design and operation of engines.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and no major violations.
