Job summary

Cascadia Healthcare is seeking an experienced maintenance professional to supervise the maintenance department and ensure the safe, efficient operation of facility systems. The role includes overseeing grounds upkeep and coordinating preventive maintenance programs.

The position requires knowledge of HVAC, plumbing and electrical systems, and at least five years of maintenance experience with supervisory responsibilities.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Conducts regular maintenance and repair projects for the facility and grounds.
  • Schedules third-party repairs when needed to ensure efficient operations.
  • Directs maintenance on utility systems to provide heat, power, gas, or air for operations.
  • Develops preventive maintenance programs.
  • Prepares department budget and monitors expenditures.
  • Recommends measures to improve operations and equipment.
  • Requisitions tools, equipment, and supplies.
  • Reviews new product plans and discusses equipment needs with design engineers.
  • Directs upkeep of attractive, well-maintained grounds.
  • Participates in the facility’s process improvement programs.
  • Ensures punctuality and regular attendance for assigned shifts.

Description

Supervises the maintenance department and is responsible for the safe and efficient function of physical plant and environmental systems. Monitors the appearance and upkeep of facility grounds.

Note: All employees of Cascadia Healthcare are required to submit and be cleared to work in the facility per eachstate’s specific background check requirements prior to contact with patients/residents.

Essential Functions
  • Conducts regular maintenance and performs repair projects for the facility and its grounds.
  • When the maintenance or repair cannot be performed by the Maintenance Manager, schedules repair and maintenance of machines, tools, and equipment by third-parties to ensure efficient facility operations.
  • Directs and participates in maintenance activities on utility systems to provide continuous supply of heat, steam, electric power, gas, or air required for operations.
  • Develops preventive maintenance programs.
  • Prepares department budget and monitors expenditure of funds in budget.
  • Recommends measures to improve operations and conditions of machines and equipment.
  • Requisitions tools, equipment, and supplies required for operations.
  • Reviews new product plans and discusses equipment needs and modifications with design engineers
  • Directs the effort to have attractive and well maintained grounds.
  • Participates in the facility’s process improvement program(s).
  • Ensures punctuality and regular attendance for assigned shifts.
Other Functions
  • Performs other tasks as assigned.
  • Conducts job responsibilities in accordance with the standards set out in the Company’s Code of Business Conduct, its policies and procedures, applicable federal and state laws, and applicable professional standards.
  • Follows annual fire life safety and water regulations.
  • Manages Maintenance Assistant (where applicable).
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
  • Knowledge of building codes and rules and regulation regarding the operation of plant equipment.
  • Knowledge of HVAC, plumbing and electrical systems.
  • Knowledge of OSHA and other safety requirements.
  • Skilled in directing and motivating the workforce.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with residents and their family members, and at all levels of the organization.
Requirements
Education
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Graduation from an appropriate technical/trade school preferred.
Licenses/Certification
  • Current valid driver’s license from the State in which the facility operates.
Experience
  • Five years of experience in building maintenance.
  • One year of supervisory experience is preferred.
  • At least one year of long-term care facility experience preferred.
