Job summary

Northern Cardinal Rehabilitation and Nursing in Suffolk, VA is seeking a Maintenance Director to oversee maintenance, grounds, and safety across the facility.

You will manage cooling, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems, perform carpentry, painting, and cleaning tasks, ensuring equipment functions properly and safely.

Requirements include a HS diploma or GED, 1-2 years of relevant experience, and the ability to work independently and follow written and oral instructions.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Maintain grounds, parking lots and equipment around the facility.
• Work on cooling, plumbing, gas, electrical, mechanical, oxygen and communication systems.
• Perform carpentry, painting and refinishing tasks as needed.
• Perform heavy duty cleaning and periodic inspections for safety.
• Change screens and storm windows as required.
• Inspect all equipment and systems regularly to ensure proper functioning.

The Maintenance Director performs maintenance and construction work around the facility. He or she will maintain the grounds, parking lots and equipment; perform cleaning tasks as needed in all areas, as well as paint, plaster and inspect equipment to make sure it is properly functioning.

Responsibilities of Maintenance Director:

• Work on the cooling, plumbing, gas, electrical, mechanical, oxygen and communication systems.
• Perform carpentry duties as needed.
• Paint, plaster and refinish items as needed.
• Perform heavy duty cleaning.
• Change screens and storm windows.
• Inspect all equipment and systems regularly to ensure proper functioning and safety.
