Job summary

The Lodge at Sandhills Carolina in Pinehurst, NC is seeking a Maintenance Director to lead all facility maintenance activities. This role requires coordinating with the Administrator and Nursing leadership to ensure safe, reliable operations and compliance with safety standards.

You will supervise maintenance staff, manage contractors, and implement QA recommendations to support resident care. Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or equivalent and experience in healthcare maintenance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Healthcare setting experience preferred.
• Ability to plan, develop and implement maintenance goals and programs.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day maintenance and supervise assistants.
• Coordinate services with Administrator/Director of Nursing and prepare reports.
• Manage external vendors and contractors as agreed with the Administrator.
• Maintain ID codes and access for secured doors.
• Implement safety, infection control, and QA recommendations and attend meetings.
• Assist in orientation and training of new hires.
• Assign tasks to maintenance staff per manufacturers’ guidelines and department standards.
• Maintain SDS for hazardous chemicals and ensure cleanliness and sanitation.
• Assess equipment and supply needs with Administrator.

The Maintenance Director will assume the administrative authority and responsibility supervising and conducting the maintenance tasks for the facility.

Responsibilities include:

• Address day-to-day maintenance functions of the facility and supervise maintenance assistant(s)
• Coordinate routine services with the Administrator and/or Director of Nursing, and complete necessary reports and forms.
• Oversee any outside vendors/contracted staff as agreed upon with the Administrator.
• Manage ID codes and passwords to secured doors.
• Implement recommendations from the Infection Control, Safety, and Quality Assurance (QA) committees, and attend staff meetings as directed.
• Assist in the orientation and training of new hires.
• Assign maintenance personnel to tasks and daily work assignments according to manufacturers’ guidelines and/or department standards.
• Maintain Safety Data Sheets (SDSs) for hazardous chemicals throughout facility.
• Conduct routine inspections of assigned work areas for cleanliness and sanitation and maintain and recommend equipment/supply needs to the Administrator.

Candidate must possess a minimum of a high school education or equivalent, and is motivated to collaborate well with residents, families, employees, and vendors. Experience in a healthcare setting is preferred. Candidate must have the ability to plan, develop, and implement goals and programs of the Maintenance Department.
