Job summary

Nexus at Godfrey is seeking a Maintenance Director in Illinois to oversee the community's maintenance of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems. The role includes scheduling, staff training, on-call responsibility, and ensuring compliance with policies and procedures.

The position requires budgeting experience, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work with residents and families. Nursing home experience is preferred, with a team-focused, collaborative culture.

Qualifications

• Must have ability to handle multiple tasks with strong time management and organizational skills.
• Ability to work with contractors and staff from different levels of technical or professional personnel.
• Ability to relate well to residents and their families.
• Working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems.
• Nursing Home experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Establish and/or follow a schedule to oversee continuous maintenance of all systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and other general duties to safely operate the Community.
• Train new and existing staff in community and state-required policies and procedures.
• Remain on-call for emergency repairs or maintenance issues.
• Maintain logs tracking maintenance activity for building and grounds.
• Order approved maintenance-related products and supplies for repairs and ongoing maintenance.
• Follow budget guidelines and assist in developing the annual maintenance budget; maintain inventory and loss control for tools and equipment.
• Hire, schedule, and supervise the maintenance department; conduct performance reviews and complete related employee paperwork.

Maintenance Director

Key Responsibilities:

• Establish and/or follow a schedule to oversee continuous maintenance of all systems such as HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and other general duties as required to safely and properly operate the Community.

• Train new and existing staff in community and state-required policies and procedures.

• Remain on-call for emergency repairs or maintenance issues.

• Assure all necessary logs are maintained to track information regarding the maintenance of the building and grounds.

• Order all approved maintenance-related products and supplies for repairs and ongoing maintenance.

• Follow budget guidelines and procedures for ordering supplies. Assist in developing the annual maintenance budget. Maintain an effective inventory and loss control program for the supplies, parts, tools, and equipment of the Maintenance Department.

• Responsible for hiring, scheduling, and supervising the maintenance department. Also responsible for conducting performance reviews and completing and maintaining all related employee paperwork.
