Job summary

Recover-Care Heartland in Marysville is seeking a Maintenance Director to oversee building and equipment maintenance and supervise staff. The role includes hands-on upkeep, safety compliance, and coordinating repairs across center grounds and facilities.

You will be on-call 24 hours and responsible for keeping environments clean, safe, and welcoming for patients and families while delivering compassionate service and following administrator directions.

Qualifications

• High school degree or equivalent and basic knowledge of wiring, plumbing and carpentry.
• Employee must read, write, speak and understand English to ensure safety and wellbeing of patients and visitors at the work site.
• Health and background verification as required by state law and company policy.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with Administrator and follow directions.
• Maintain building and grounds in a clean, safe and orderly condition.
• Maintain and repair basic functions of the center as determined by the maintenance director/supervisor.
• Take care of tools and equipment.
• Perform minor repairs on various fixtures and systems (e.g., walls, ceilings, HVAC, electrical, sprinkling, generators, lighting).
• Remain on call for 24 hours a day when assigned.
• Prioritize customer service and ensure compassionate care for patients and families.
• Perform other duties as requested.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Maintenance Director oversees the maintenance of the physical building and the equipment. The Maintenance Director supervises staff members. The Maintenance Director provides a variety of standard and unskilled tasks in the maintenance and repair of center grounds and facilities.

RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• 1. Works closely with and follows directions from the Administrator;


• 2. Maintains building and grounds in a clean, safe and orderly condition;


• 3. Maintains and repairs basic functions of the center as determined by the maintenance director/supervisor;


• 4. Takes care of the tools and equipment;


• 5. Makes minor repairs on handrails, windows, flooring, walls, ceilings, beds, wheelchairs, geri-chairs, electrical equipment, sprinkling systems, generators, emergency lighting, fire alarms and extinguishers, changes filters on HVAC equipment, carries, lifts and stocks supplies;


• 6. Remains on call, when assigned, for 24 hours a day;


• 7. Puts Customer Service First: Ensures that customers and families receive the highest quality of service in a caring and compassionate atmosphere which recognizes the individuals’ needs and rights;


• 8. Performs other duties as requested.

SPECIFIC EDUCATIONAL/VOCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

• 2. This position requires that the employee is able to read, write, speak and understand the spoken English language to ensure the safety and wellbeing of our patients and visitors at the work site when responding to their medical and physical needs.
