Job summary

Country Meadows in Harrisburg, PA is seeking a Maintenance Director to lead maintenance operations, overseeing preventive programs, building systems, grounds, and regulatory compliance. You will ensure the campus stays safe, comfortable, and well‑maintained, while delivering exceptional service to residents and families.

The role is full-time, with hours 7:30am to 4:00pm and every 6th weekend/holiday/on-call rotations.

Qualifications

• Must be capable of using hand tools, drills, plungers, carpet cleaners, vacuum cleaners, vacuum backpacks, mowers, snow blowers, tractors, motor vehicles, and dishwashers.

Responsibilities

• Provide training and contribute to evaluations of co-workers.
• Continually monitors and determines re-ordering needs for certain products.
• Assists residents when moving and transporting belongings.
• Maintains lawns and shrubbery and performs snow removal in winter.
• Performs repairs for malfunctioning facility equipment.

This position oversees all aspects of campus maintenance operations, including preventative maintenance programs, building systems, grounds management, regulatory compliance, and capital improvement projects. As a hands‑on leader, the Maintenance Supervisor ensures the campus remains in excellent condition while providing exceptional service and support to residents. Maintenance Director Responsibilities:

• Provide training and contribute to evaluations of co-workers.
• Continually monitors and determines re-ordering needs for certain products.
• Assists residents when moving, including but not limited to transporting furniture and pre-boxed personal belongings.
• Surveys vacant units to determine and address needs; including but not limited to carpet cleaning/shampooing, spackling, painting, etc.
• Maintains all lawns and shrubbery, including but not limited to watering, weeding, mowing, replacing, seeding, and trimming, along with snow removal in winter.
• Performs repairs for malfunctioning facility equipment, including but not limited to clogged drains, leaky faucets, stopped commodes, ice machines, dishwashers, refrigerators, washing machines, dryers, heat pumps, etc.

Maintenance Director Requirements:

• Must be capable of using hand tools, drills, plungers, carpet cleaners, vacuum cleaners, vacuum backpacks, mowers, snow blowers, tractors, motor vehicles, and dishwashers.
• Must be able to understand and empathize with the needs of our residents and fellow co-workers.
• Must be able to readily perform tasks under emergency and weather-related situations.
• Valid driver’s license; must have a clean driving record with no major violations
• Have the ability to understand and speak English at a level which allows the safe, efficient performance of the job.
• Must be able to perform the physical requirements of this role.
