Job summary

RYZE at the Ridge is seeking an experienced Maintenance Director to oversee upkeep, safety, and operations of the facility. You will manage maintenance staff, coordinate with vendors, and ensure compliance with life-safety standards to support resident care.

The role requires hands-on maintenance expertise, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to develop preventative maintenance programs in a skilled nursing environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 1 year of maintenance or facilities management experience (healthcare or skilled nursing preferred).
• Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and general building maintenance.
• Previous supervisory or leadership experience preferred.
• Knowledge of preventative maintenance practices and facility safety requirements.
• Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple maintenance needs.
• Ability to respond to emergencies and maintenance issues as needed.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical requirements of the position.
• Must be dependable, detail-oriented, and committed to a safe environment for residents and staff.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the maintenance, repair, and upkeep of the facility, grounds, equipment, and building systems.
• Maintain and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and other facility systems.
• Develop and maintain preventative maintenance schedules to ensure equipment and building systems remain safe and operational.
• Conduct regular inspections of the facility and grounds to identify maintenance, safety, and environmental concerns.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests, emergencies, and equipment issues.
• Coordinate and oversee work performed by outside vendors and contractors.
• Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, preventative maintenance, and other required documentation.
• Ensure the facility complies with applicable safety regulations, building codes, fire and life safety requirements, and other regulatory standards.
• Prepare the facility for regulatory inspections and address identified deficiencies in a timely manner.
• Manage, schedule, and provide direction to maintenance staff as applicable.
• Maintain adequate inventory of maintenance supplies, tools, and equipment.
• Work closely with nursing, dietary, housekeeping, and other departments to address facility needs and minimize disruptions to resident care.
• Monitor facility safety and ensure hazards are identified and corrected promptly.
• Assist with emergency preparedness and facility disaster plans.
• Maintain the overall appearance, cleanliness, and functionality of the building and grounds.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Administrator.
