Job summary

Chick-fil-A Newington is hiring for a full-time maintenance/handler role focused on keeping the restaurant in top condition. You’ll perform repairs and preventive maintenance, monitor equipment and facilities, and coordinate with outside repair pros as needed.

You’ll work daytime hours on weekdays with occasional Saturdays, supporting Back of House operations and catering needs. The team emphasizes teamwork, leadership development, and reliable, hands-on contributions.

Qualifications

• At least 18 years old
• Valid driver’s license
• Ability to pass a motor vehicle record check
• Dependable, organized, and able to manage a changing task list
• Willing to learn Back of House operations

Responsibilities

• Complete basic repairs and preventative maintenance throughout the restaurant
• Monitor condition of restaurant equipment, the building, and surrounding areas
• Manage and complete assigned tasks through our task-management app
• Identify maintenance concerns and communicate them to the directors
• Contact, schedule, and follow up with outside repair professionals when needed
• Keep maintenance tools, supplies, and storage areas organized
• Safely transport catering, school lunch, and Hotspot orders in our catering van
• Train in the Back of House to assist during lunch or help prepare large catering orders
• Support other maintenance and restaurant projects as needed

What We’re Looking For

• At least 18 years old
• Valid driver’s license
• Ability to pass a motor vehicle record check
• Dependable, organized, and able to manage a changing task list
• Comfortable working independently and taking ownership of responsibilities
• Willing to learn our Back of House operations
• Occasional flexibility for urgent maintenance situations, large deliveries, or Saturday needs

Schedule

This is a full-time, primarily weekday daytime position. Typical hours will generally fall around 8:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m. or 9:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. Occasional Saturday availability may be needed for large deliveries or urgent maintenance issues.
