Meadowbrook Respiratory and Nursing Center in Long Branch, NJ, seeks a maintenance professional to ensure regulatory compliance and oversee a wide range of facility upkeep activities.

You will manage life safety, fire and OSHA training, coordinate with outside vendors, read blueprints, and implement preventive maintenance across electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and more. This role is on-site with onboarding tasks to acclimate you to the facility.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures the facility remains in compliance with Life Safety Code regulations at federal, state and local level.
  • Involves planning, directing, participating, and supervising preventive and unplanned maintenance and repair activities.
  • Assists with ensuring services by outside vendors are completed and supervised per contracts and work orders.
  • Keeps Fire Safety program compliant with Life Safety Code (2012) and Health Care Facilities Code, including drills and safety training.
  • Assists with OSHA standards training, including incident reporting, bloodborne pathogens, hazardous waste, and PPE.
  • Assists in Emergency Preparedness Plan development; training reflects risk assessments with drills to test effectiveness.
  • Implements preventive maintenance tasks and documents procedures for facility, utilities, and HVAC/electrical systems.
  • Assists in standardizing maintenance methods across tasks.
  • Ensures compliance with safety and building codes and related regulatory terms.
  • Reads blueprints to monitor upkeep of electrical, HVAC and other systems.
  • Operates and assesses technical aspects of facility machinery, equipment and buildings.
  • Other responsibilities on site during onboarding.

Job description

Major Duties and Responsibilities

Ensures the facility remains in compliance with all federal, state and local regulations for Life Safety Codecompliance.

Participates in proper planning, direction, participation, and supervision of both preventative and unplannedmaintenance and repair activities in the facility, which includes painting, plumbing, carpentry, HVAC, and electricalwork.

Assists with ensuring that services performed by outside vendors are properly completed/supervised in accordancewith contracts/work orders.

Assists with ensuring the facility’s Fire Safety program complies with the 2012 version of the Life Safety Code andHealth Care Facilities Code. Includes but is not limited to required fire drills, training on the facility’s fire safety plan,safe use of oxygen, electrical safety.

Assists with ensuring the facility’s compliance with multiple OSHA standards. Some of OSHA’s required trainingsoverlap with fire safety requirements. Additional required trainings may include but are not limited to those related toreporting of work-related incidents, bloodborne pathogens-hazardous waste removal, hazard communication,personal protective equipment, and ergonomics.

Assists with the development and implementation of the facility’s Emergency Preparedness Plan. A training programmust reflect the risks identified in the facility’s risk assessment so that staff can demonstrate knowledge of emergencyprocedures. Drills and exercises are required to test the effectiveness of the traininImplements preventive maintenance tasks, document instructions and procedures for the preventative maintenance offacility and utility components and office equipment, as well as, mechanical, air conditioning, heating, and electricalsystems, etc.

Assists in standardizing the methods in which maintenance tasks will be performed.

Assists with ensuring the facility’s compliance with the law and other regulatory terms such as safety and buildingcodes.

Assists with reading and interprets blueprints in order to monitor the upkeep of electrical, HVAC, and other systems.

Assists with running, operating, and assessing technical aspects of facility machinery, equipment, and buildings.

Other responsibilitys will be given on site during onboarding.
