Job summary

Wadsworth City Schools Isham Memorial Elementary School in Wadsworth, Ohio is seeking a Custodian III to join the evening shift. The role supports building cleanliness, safety and maintenance under the Custodial Manager and head custodian.

You will perform cleaning duties, operate power equipment, lift up to 55 pounds, and interact with staff, students and community groups while upholding health and safety standards per OSHA and local regulations. Salary ranges from $18.31 to $21.61 per hour.

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in general cleaning and building service operations preferred.
• Demonstrate the ability to plan and organize tasks.
• Ability to perform minor repairs and cooperate with others.
• Lift 55 pounds unassisted.
• Operate a variety of power machinery/tools for cleaning.
• Communicate verbally and in writing and follow directions.
• Perform all items listed in essential duties.
• Interview-based qualification validation.
• Other criteria as determined by the Board of Education may apply.
• Good health, attendance, neat appearance; computor knowledge (email).

Job Description

Days: 206. Hours per week: 6.0 Hours (3:00p - 9:30p). Salary: $18.31 - $21.61.

Will work under the supervision of the Custodial Manager and will be directed by the head custodian in the performance of duties which relate to maintaining the school buildings at a high level of cleanliness, safety and good repair. In addition to regular cleaning duties will interact with the Custodial Manager, head custodian, building principal, district personnel, community members, students and rental groups, to insure that their needs and requirements are provided for, while promoting good public relations. Promote health and safety practices and procedures consistent with OSHA, PERRA, ORC and OAC.

• Able to perform all items as listed in the essential duties.
• Validation of qualifications as determined by an interview.
• Other relevant criteria as determined by the Board of Education, Superintendent and/or designee may find appropriate are acceptable.
• Good health, high moral standards, good attendance, clean and neat apperance.
