Job summary

Airswift is seeking a Project Cost Controls Specialist for our Martinez, CA site to support maintenance cost tracking, forecasts, and financial control in a refinery environment. The role collaborates with maintenance and project teams to ensure budget integrity, accurate cost reporting, and timely forecasting across routine maintenance activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Engineering, or Business, or equivalent.
• 5+ years of refinery or project cost control experience.
• Advanced SAP and Microsoft Excel skills.
• Strong attention to detail and analytical ability.
• Desirable: oil, energy, or manufacturing sector experience.
• Desirable: familiarity with work order and project management processes.
• Desirable: ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage routine maintenance cost control activities, including tracking actual costs, forecasts, and variances.
• Monitor and reconcile work activity costs to support alignment with budgets and project priorities.
• Produce and maintain weekly and monthly cost tracking reports, dashboards, spending trend analysis, accruals, and forecasts.
• Provide analysis of cost performance, highlighting risks, variances, and areas requiring corrective action.
• Support monthly forecasting activities in partnership with finance to maintain alignment between reported costs and business expectations.
• Maintain documentation related to change management, including budget changes, scope additions, and cost impacts.
• Support consistent cost tracking practices in line with reporting and control requirements.
• Coordinate with project teams where maintenance activity interfaces with wider project work to support accurate cost separation.
• Assist with audit support and closeout documentation to maintain complete and accurate historical records.
