Airswift is seeking a Project Controls Analyst to support a major LNG project in Gregory, TX, on a 2‑year assignment under a Time‑and‑Materials contract. The analyst will monitor costs, schedules, and resources, providing timely reporting and forecasts to keep the project on budget.

Responsibilities include cost control, progress tracking, and change-order analysis, with a focus on labor, equipment, and material utilization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, mathematics, economics or finance.
• MBA, PMP or CCP credentials are a plus.
• 10+ years of oil & gas or engineering/construction cost/controls experience.
• Experience as a cost analyst on a Time‑and‑Materials project.

Responsibilities

• Provide commercial support including forecasting, earned value, cash flow, and change orders.
• Monitor daily labor hours, equipment use, and material consumption.
• Track construction progress and generate performance metrics and status updates.
• Analyze actual costs against budgets and forecasts.
• Assist in invoice verification for labor, equipment, and materials.
• Support forecasting of resources for project duration.
• Verify quantities installed with the construction team.
• Document scope changes and review contractor change orders.
• Analyze cost using earned value, percent complete, productivity, and burn rate.
• Track project costs, progress, trends, risks, and impacts.
• Perform ad-hoc analysis and support project needs.
• Validate schedule and cost impacts of change orders with field team.
• Document delays due to contractor performance, weather, or safety.

Job description

Airswift is seeking a Project Controls Analyst to work with one of our major LNG clients in Gregory, TX, for a 2‑year assignment. The analyst will monitor project costs, schedules, and resource usage, and provide timely reporting for a construction power project executed under a Time‑and‑Materials contract. The role will ensure accurate tracking of labor hours, equipment at site, material costs and expenditures, confirm quantities installed, update forecasts, and analyze field progress to keep the project on budget and schedule.

Job Responsibilities

• Provision of commercial support to the division, including reporting (cash flow development, forecasting, progress, earned value, financial status, change orders and contingency)
• Monitor and track daily labor hours, equipment utilization, and material consumption
• Track construction progress, provide project performance metrics and status updates
• Analyze actual costs against budgets and forecast
• Assist in invoice preparation for verifying labor, equipment, and material charges
• Support forecasting of labor, equipment and material requirements for the project duration
• Work with the construction team to verify quantities installed
• Support change management by documenting scope changes, identifying trends, and reviewing contractors’ change‑order proposals
• Analyze cost using earned value, percent complete, productivity rate, and burned rate
• Track project cost, progress, trends, impacts, conflicts, changes, and risks
• Perform ad‑hoc project analysis and support
• Validate schedule and cost impacts due to change orders with the construction field team
• Document delays related to contractor performance such as productivity, weather, equipment breakdowns, manpower shortages, safety, environmental violations, or quality deficiencies

Education/Experience: Bachelor’s Degree in engineering, mathematics, economics, finance, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and work experience. An MBA, PMP, and/or CCP credentials are a definite plus. A minimum of 10 continuous years of experience with an oil & gas operating company and/or engineering and construction company. Previous experience as a cost analyst on a Time‑and‑Materials construction project.

Knowledge

Thorough knowledge of project controls functions, processes, and procedures as they apply to project management. Comprehensive knowledge of engineering, procurement and construction costs, materials, and procedures in the oil and gas industry. Proficiency in cost‑control functions including budget development, cost analysis, forecasting, and variance reporting. Computer‑based financial and budgeting systems, PowerPoint for presentation, and strong Microsoft Excel skills for analysis and reporting. Understanding of a Time‑and‑Materials contract.
