Qualifications

**JOB SUMMARY:**The Maintenance / Controls Technician at Magna Engineered Glass supports the Maintenance and Manufacturing Engineering team with change overs, troubleshooting, repairing and performing Preventative Maintenance activities (PM’s) on robotic, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and automated systems. Responsibilities progress by level, with opportunities to build advanced technical skills and take on increasing responsibility in system design, programming, and optimization.¨NBSP;The position may require irregular schedules and involves exposure to chemicals, high voltage, loud noise, and hazardous waste.**ESSENTIAL JOBDUTIESANDRESPONSIBILITIES:****Level 1:**Performswork center start up and shut down processes.Performs change over functions.Respond quickly to production issues, minimize downtime, and ensure equipment availabilityDocuments all repairs and PM’s using CMMS system.Troubleshooting on pneumatics, soldering, robots, tip changers, and assembly fixtures.Conduct equipment functions such as barrel/drum changes, weight checks, and changeovers.Understand production metrics and escalation procedures.Understands different types of adhesives and troubleshoots dispense systems for each type.Updates technical staff through attending crossover meetings and updating equipment logs.Comply with all company health, safety, and environmental policies as well as applicable federal, state, and local regulations; properly handle and dispose of hazardous materials.Perform other duties as assigned.******Level 2:**Same as above, plus:Troubleshoot PLC programs, hydraulics, pneumatics, servo drives, and vision systems.Read and apply electrical schematics, pneumatic prints, and blueprints.Replace hydraulic/pneumatic componentsRebuild solder heads.Troubleshoot robot programsUse gauging fixtures for quality verification.Comply with all company health, safety, and environmental policies as well as applicable federal, state, and local regulations; properly handle and dispose of hazardous materials.Perform other duties as assigned.******Level 3:**Same as above, plus:Perform robot path modifications, vision system teaching/calibration, and HMI modifications.Understand / interpret hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical schematicsCreate and modify PLC ladder logic, HMI applications, pneumatic diagrams, and electrical schematics.Apply GD&T, metrology instruments, and network protocolsOptimize soldering processes and perform servo drive replacementsAble to calibrate / teach vision systemsContribute to engineering design through blueprint and drawing creation.Provide technical training and guidance to production and maintenance staff; support skills assessments and recommend or deliver additional training as needed.Comply with all company health, safety, and environmental policies as well as applicable federal, state, and local regulations; properly handle and dispose of hazardous materials.Perform other duties as assigned.Participate in problem-solving, continuous improvement, and other departmental projects as assigned.**********REQUIREMENTS:****Level 1:**1-3 years in mechanical / automation machine repair.Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot, update, and work on all equipment in designated area of responsibility.Demonstrated mechanical knowledge including pneumatics and electrical required.Demonstrated good interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills to communicate with internal and external contacts and work in a team environment.English proficiency required, with strong verbal and written communication skills. Bilingual (Spanish) preferred.******Level 2:**Meets all Level 1 requirements plus:Associate’s degree in a technical discipline and / or significant amount of related work experience or completion of apprenticeship as mechanic or electrician (i.e. journeyman card) and 2-3 years of experience in an automation environment.4-6 years of related experience including troubleshooting and repairing automation systems, hydraulics, and electrical systems.Proficiency in PLC and HMI software navigation, machine connectivity, and troubleshooting.Ability to modify existing programs in Allen Bradley PLCs and update HMI applications.Ability to modify and optimize vision sensor programs.Hands-on experience with industrial robotics (ABB preferred) including troubleshooting and minor program adjustments.Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and pneumatic/hydraulic diagrams.******Level 3:**Meets all Level 2 requirements plus:7+ years of progressive automation / maintenance experience with advanced programming and troubleshooting responsibilities.Demonstrated expertise in rebuilding machinery and complex system integration (hydraulic, pneumatic, electronic, robotic).Advanced ability to create and modify PLC ladder logic, HMI applications, and pneumatic/electrical diagrams.Proficiency in calibrating vision systems and performing advanced robot path modifications.Knowledge of GD&T and use of precision measurement/metrology instruments.Ability to contribute to design reviews and ensure compliance with codes safety standards and maintainability requirements.******PHYSICALDEMANDS:**Prolonged standing at least 8 hours, but up to 12 hours per dayLift objects weighing up to 35 pounds multiple times per hour.Repetitive bending, twisting, turning, lifting.Repetitive use of hands, including gripping, grasping, pinching, squeezingYou should be proficient in:Mechanical Troubleshooting SkillsPreventive Maintenance & InspectionIndustrial Robot ProgrammingPneumatics TroubleshootingMaintenance and Repair SkillsCNC Machine Setup & ChangeoverMachines & technologies you'll use:Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) (Allen Bradley)HMI
