Job summary

The City of Panama City is seeking a skilled manual laborer to perform construction, maintenance, and storm-response tasks under the Director of Public Works. Daily duties include using tools and equipment for concrete, drainage, and landscaping work in all weather conditions.

This on-site role supports emergency operations during storms and may require overtime. A high school diploma and a valid driver’s license are required, with MT Certification preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 4 years of manual labor maintenance/construction experience preferred.
• Valid Driver’s license required.
• Maintenance of Traffic Certification or ability to obtain within 1 year preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assists in concrete work: mixing, finishing, forming, and installing blocks.
• Loads/unloads equipment, supplies, and materials.
• Patches potholes, sets up work zones, and directs traffic as needed.
• Cleans drains, culverts, ditches, and performs grounds maintenance.
• Cuts grass, removes vegetation, and maintains landscaping.
• Operates and maintains various hand and power tools.
• Digs trenches and assists with drainage and sidewalk projects.
• May perform custodial duties and on-call emergency duties.
