Job summary

Hendrickson in Somerset, KY is seeking a maintenance technician to maximize equipment uptime and improve reliability of production systems. You will support production as teams take on more ownership of their equipment, coordinating installations and start-ups with supervision.

The role requires a technical degree pursuit in industrial maintenance or engineering, 1–2 years of maintenance experience, and hands-on ability with electrical/electronic, fluid power, mechanical, and plumbing systems,

Qualifications

• Pursuing an associate's degree in industrial maintenance or related field.
• 1-2 years of maintenance experience required.
• Proficient in diagnosing and troubleshooting electrical, electronic, fluid power, mechanical and plumbing systems.
• Familiarity with OSHA, EPA, NFPA, NEC and local regulations.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance per schedules and manufacturer recommendations.
• Complete periodical and incidental machine maintenance accurately and timely.
• Plan and implement corrective actions with management guidance.
• Assist with equipment installation and start-up.
• Maintain clean, safe work environment and assist in procuring maintenance supplies.

Job Description Position Purpose

Maximize productive time of equipment; improve the reliability and repeatability of production systems. Provide support to production associates as they assume greater responsibility for the maintenance of their own equipment. Coordinate and assist with the equipment installation and start-up.

Essential Functions

• Complete periodical and incidental machine maintenance in an accurate and timely manner.
• Perform preventative maintenance as outlined on preventative maintenance schedules of equipment manufacture's recommendations.
• Plan and implement corrective action in conjunction with management direction.
• Comply with all safety standards and regulations.
• Maintain building, equipment, and grounds in a clean and orderly manner.
• Assist in the purchase of maintenance supplies and equipment parts as required or directed.

Education and Training

Must be a currently enrolled in and working towards a technical degree in Industrial Maintenance, Engineering, or related degree.

Minimum Qualifications

• Working towards associate's degree in industrial maintenance or related degree program or equivalent experience in applicable areas is acceptable.
• Must have 1-2 years maintenance experience Must be proficient in diagnosing and troubleshooting electrical, electronic, fluid power, mechanical and plumbing systems.
• Familiarity with Siemens and/or Allen Bradley CNC Controls are needed.
• Should be familiar with applicable regulatory requirements outlined by OSHA, EPA, NFPA, NEC, and other state/local organizations.
• Machining and welding capabilities required Computer literature, i.e., Microsoft Office applications

Physical Demands

• Constant standing, walking, reaching and balancing.
• Occasional bending, squatting, kneeling and climbing.
• Minimal sitting and crawling Lift up to 50 lbs.
• Carry up to 50 lbs. approximately 5 feet.
• Push/Pull 20-40 lbs. of force 40 feet.

Environmental Conditions

Work Environment: Manufacturing Lighting: Adequate Ventilation: Adequate. There is welding smoke from the process that is visible in the air Temperature: Non-Temperature Controlled. Humidity, heat, cold are factors during the year.
