Job summary

CMHA-CEI is seeking a skilled carpenter to build, repair, and maintain wooden and steel structures across multiple facilities. You will perform carpentry tasks, minor plumbing/electrical repairs, and respond to after-hours emergencies under the Building Maintenance and Grounds Coordinator.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, 3 years of carpenter experience, and a Michigan Residential Builder's license or ability to obtain one.

Qualifications

• Three years’ carpenter experience required.
• High School diploma or GED required.
• Michigan Residential Builder's license or ability to obtain.
• Valid Michigan driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Must be able to obtain a C3 endorsement for driving a CMHA-CEI vehicle.
• Residence in the Tri-County area to respond to emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Constructs, repairs, and maintains wooden and steel structures using hand and power tools.
• Performs rough and fine carpentry; minor plumbing and electrical repairs.
• Responds to emergency repairs at CMHA-CEI locations, including after hours.
• Works under the Building Maintenance and Grounds Coordinator to fulfill CMHA-CEI’s mission.
