NMS is seeking a skilled maintenance technician to perform routine repairs and preventative maintenance on commercial properties, including walls, roofs, floors, windows, drywall, and fixtures. The role involves ladders, scissor lifts, and using a computerized maintenance management system daily.
Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, at least five years of direct carpentry/building maintenance experience, and a valid Alaska driver's license with a three‑year clean driving record.

This position carries out activities required to maintain and correct damage to physical buildings, structures, and facilities. The role includes work with equipment such as ladders and scissor lifts and is responsible for routine general repair work.
Must be able to work well with others as directed and be a team player.
Able to work independently and prioritize workload.
Must be able to assume the role of site lead technician in an emergency.
Language skills are sufficient to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; write routine reports and correspondence.
Math skills are sufficient to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Reasoning abilities are sufficient to solve practical problems and deal with variables in situations where only limited standardization exists; interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Applicants must pass a pre‑employment drug test, a post‑offer physical assessment, and a criminal background check.
Work is both indoors and outdoors. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; outside weather conditions; extreme cold; and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
Physical requirements: The employee must be able and willing to fly in small aircraft; must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and may occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds; specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
