Job summary

Albertsons Companies is seeking a dedicated Materials/Inventory Specialist to oversee maintenance parts and supplies. The role ensures timely availability of parts and supports the maintenance and repair process.

You will manage the CMMS database, collaborate with the maintenance team to forecast needs, and negotiate favorable vendor contracts while maintaining accurate records and budgeting alignment.

• Experience in food manufacturing is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Source and procure parts, supplies, and services for maintenance and repair activities.
• Manage and maintain the CMMS database information for procurement and inventory management.
• Negotiate contracts with vendors to ensure cost-effective purchasing.
• Maintain accurate records of purchases, contracts, and inventory levels.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, SOX requirements, and regulatory guidelines.
• Collaborate with maintenance team to forecast part needs and optimize inventory levels.
• Review and facilitate approval of purchase orders and invoices, ensuring accuracy and budget alignment.
• Track delivery schedules and coordinate with suppliers for timely arrival of parts.
• Identify opportunities for cost savings through vendor consolidation or strategic sourcing.
• Participate in vendor evaluation and selection processes.
• Assist in budget management by monitoring costs and controlling spending.
• Resolve discrepancies and shipping manifests with Purchaser.
• Ensure parts are labeled per site procedures.
• Conduct cycle counts to ensure high accuracy of stock and parts.
• Manage kitting for purchased and inventory parts for planned jobs.
• Keep parts storage areas clean and organized.
• Provide guidance to technicians retrieving parts per procedures.
• Assist customers promptly and professionally.

Roles And Responsibilities

• Source and procure parts, supplies, and services needed for maintenance and repair activities.
• Manage and maintain the CMMS database information for procurement and inventory management.
• Manage relationships with vendors and negotiate contracts to ensure cost-effective purchasing.
• Maintain accurate records of purchases, contracts, and inventory levels.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, SOX requirements, and regulatory guidelines.
• Collaborate with the maintenance team to forecast part needs and optimize inventory levels.
• Review and facilitate the approval of purchase orders and invoices, ensuring accuracy and budget alignment.
• Track delivery schedules and coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely arrival of critical parts.
• Identify opportunities for cost savings through vendor consolidation or strategic sourcing.
• Participate in vendor evaluation and selection processes.
• Assist in budget management by monitoring costs and working to control spending.
• Resolves all discrepancies and shipping manifests with the Purchaser.
• Ensure Maintenance parts are labelled per site procedures.

• Manage the kitting process for purchased and inventory parts as needed for all planned jobs.
• Clean and maintain parts and supplies storage areas.
• Provide guidance and assistance to technicians retrieving parts in accordance with established withdrawal procedures.
• Assist all customers promptly and professionally.

Education/Training/Experience

• Knowledge of MRO parts.
• Experience in food manufacturing is desired.
• Demonstrate effective communication skills.
• PC proficiency.
• Self-motivated and able to work without supervision.
• Strong Problem-solving skills

Accountabilities

• KPI's improvement inventory accuracy.
• Support a high service level for all MRO and supplies.
• Help promote skills, team spirit, and productivity with the Maintenance team.
• Maintains the parts areas in optimal 5S condition.
