Job summary

Valley View Village, a Cassia community, is seeking an experienced Maintenance team member to help keep our campus safe and welcoming. The role involves general maintenance, repairs, painting and preventive upkeep with occasional bus-driving duties for outings.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years of maintenance experience, holds a D3 chauffeur license or CDL endorsement, and can work independently while supporting a team-oriented culture. Full-time, 8:00 am–4:30 pm, Des Moines area.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of maintenance experience required.
• D3 chauffeur license or passenger endorsement CDL.
• Plumbing, electrical work, HVAC and/or floor care preferred.
• Healthcare setting experience preferred, but not required.
• On-call availability required.
• Able to perform inside and outside repairs, basic carpentry and plumbing.
• Able to use basic maintenance tools (hammer, pliers, screwdriver, drill).
• Strong communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance repairs and projects.
• Implement and schedule a preventive maintenance program.
• Respond to maintenance requests by residents and staff.
• Painting and drywalling.
• Follow-through on projects with little supervision.
• Keep detailed reports of ongoing and completed projects.
• Complete lawn care and snow removal as needed.
• Serve as backup bus driver for scheduled outings.
• Perform other duties as requested.

Working on our Maintenance team at Valley View Village, you’ll assist with general maintenance, repairs, painting and preventative upkeep throughout the community. You'll also serve as a backup bus driver for resident and employee outings, as needed. Our ideal candidate has 3-5 years of maintenance experience, is dependable, detail‑oriented, and enjoys working independently while supporting a team‑focused environment. Position Type: Full-Time, benefits eligible position

Shift: 8:00 am to 4:30 pm

Wage: $20 - $22 / per hour depending on experience

Maintenance Responsibilities

Maintenance Qualifications

• 3-5 years of maintenance experience required.
• D3 chauffer’s license or a passenger endorsement CDL.
• Prior experience in plumbing, electrical work, HVAC and/or floor care preferred.
• Prior experience in a healthcare setting preferred, but not required.
• Must be available to work on-call as needed.
• Able to make repairs inside and outside of building, basic carpentry, basic plumbing, replace light bulbs, filters, etc.
• Able to use basic maintenance tools such as hammer, pliers, screwdriver, drill, etc.
• Must have strong communication and organizational skills.
