Job summary

Valley View Village, a Cassia community, is seeking an experienced Maintenance team member to help keep our campus safe, comfortable, and welcoming for residents and staff. This hands-on role offers steady work and a chance to be part of a supportive team where your contributions are valued.

Based in Des Moines, IA, the Maintenance position runs 8:00 am–4:30 pm, with a wage of $20–$22 per hour and eligibility for benefits.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of maintenance experience required.
• D3 chauffeur’s license or a passenger endorsement CDL.
• Experience in plumbing, electrical work, HVAC and/or floor care preferred.
• Healthcare setting experience preferred, but not required.
• Must be available to work on-call as needed.
• Able to perform interior and exterior repairs, basic carpentry and plumbing.
• Able to use basic maintenance tools (hammer, pliers, screwdriver, drill, etc.).
• Strong communication and organizational skills.

• Implement and schedule a preventive maintenance program.
• Respond to maintenance requests by residents and staff.
• Painting and drywalling.
• Follow-through on projects with little supervision.

Working on our Maintenance team at Valley View Village, you’ll assist with general maintenance, repairs, painting and preventative upkeep throughout the community. You'll also serve as a backup bus driver for resident and employee outings, as needed. Our ideal candidate has 3-5 years of maintenance experience, is dependable, detail-oriented, and enjoys working independently while supporting a team-focused environment. Position Type: Full‑Time, benefits eligible position

Shift: 8:00 am to 4:30 pm

Wage: $20 - $22 / per hour depending on experience

Maintenance Responsibilities

• Able to make repairs inside and outside of building, basic carpentry, basic plumbing, replace light bulbs, filters, etc.
• Able to use basic maintenance tools such as hammer, pliers, screwdriver, drill, etc.
• Must have strong communication and organizational skills.
