Job summary

Cassia's Newton Village is hiring a Maintenance Worker to help keep our senior care community in top shape and support residents' well‑being. You will perform routine upkeep, respond to requests, and help with repairs to preserve a safe, comfortable environment.

We welcome a friendly, upbeat team member who can handle on‑call needs and coordinate small projects with little supervision. This is a full‑time, benefits‑eligible role at our Newton Village site.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in plumbing, electrical work, HVAC and/or floor care.
• Prior healthcare setting experience preferred but not required.
• Must be available to work on-call as needed.
• Able to perform basic repairs inside and outside of building, basic carpentry, plumbing, replace light bulbs and filters.

Responsibilities

• Provides carpet and floor care in residents rooms and common areas.
• Disposes of trash from common areas and resident rooms.
• Performs routine maintenance repairs and projects as needed.
• Follows scheduled maintenance program and responds to maintenance requests.
• Keeps detailed reports of ongoing and completed projects.

Newton Village, a Cassia community, is hiring a Maintenance Worker to join our team. In this role, you'll be responsible for keeping our lovely facility in great shape and contributing positively to our residents' lives. We're seeking someone with a friendly, upbeat personality as our ideal candidate.

Position Type: Full-Time, benefits eligible position working a varying schedule

Location: 110 N 5th Ave W, Newton, IA 50208

Maintenance Responsibilities

• Provides carpet and floor care in residents rooms and common areas.
• Disposes of trash from common areas and resident rooms.
• Additional duties may include cleaning windows, moving and arranging furniture.
• Perform routine maintenance repairs and projects as needed.
• Follow scheduled maintenance program.
• Respond to maintenance requests by residents and staff.
• Follow-through on projects with little supervision.
• Perform manual tasks and carry out all given job-related instructions.
• Keep detailed reports of ongoing and completed projects.
• Perform other duties as requested.

Maintenance Qualifications

• Prior experience in plumbing, electrical work, HVAC and/or floor care.
• Prior experience in a healthcare setting preferred, but not required.
• Must be available to work on-call as needed.
• Able to make repairs inside and outside of building, basic carpentry, basic plumbing, replace light bulbs, filters, etc.
• Able to use basic maintenance tools such as hammer, pliers, screwdriver, drill, etc.
• Must have strong communication and organizational skills.
