MICA Steelworks in Haltom City, TX is seeking a Maintenance/Janitorial associate to keep building and grounds clean at both site facilities. The role involves basic upkeep, restrooms, floors, and routine cleaning tasks in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

You will assist with minor repairs under supervision, maintain supplies, and help with event setups. A high school diploma or GED and 1–2 years related experience are preferred, with safety knowledge and reliability essential.

Responsabilidades

• Assist with troubleshooting, resolution and repair of maintenance duties.
• Perform safe execution of job specifications under supervision.
• Clean and supply restrooms, service breakrooms, lobby and offices at both sites.
• Clean building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing or vacuuming.
• Gather and empty facility trash into dumpsters.
• Maintain current inventory of cleaning and maintenance materials.
• Inspect and clean production, engineering and office equipment.
• Assist in minor plumbing repairs (sinks, toilets, water heater) with training.
• Maintain organized tool room and supplies; ensure areas are clean and stored.
• Assist with setup for special events.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Full-time shop exposure; extreme temperatures; no travel; standing 8–10 hours daily; up to 6 days a week.

Education And Experience

The incumbent must possess a High School Diploma, or GED, with 1-2 years’ related work experience. High School Diploma or GED preferred. Possession of maintenance experience is preferred.

QUALIFICATIONS

The incumbent must be able to:

• Knowledge of maintenance equipment
• Knowledge and understanding of Lock Out/Tag Out procedures and requirements

• Ability to work in a team environment and demonstrate attention to detail and flexibility
• Successfully pass a background check, including criminal history, drug screen, physical, audiogram, and vision test.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Duties

This position will be responsible for assisting with the troubleshooting, resolution and repair of a variety of maintenance related duties. This position will also be responsible for the safe performance of job specifications, including but not limited to:

• The ability to clean and supply restrooms, including but not limited to: washing and sanitizing toilets, sinks, mirrors, removing trash, and restocking disposables. The ability to also service breakrooms and conference rooms, front lobby and offices at both site facilities (shop and main building)
• The ability clean building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing and/or vacuuming.
• The ability to gather and empty facility trash into facility dumpster.
• The ability to maintain current inventory of all cleaning and maintenance materials.
• The ability to assist in performing inspection and extensive cleaning of all production equipment, engineering equipment; special projects equipment; and office equipment.
• The ability to assist in performing minor plumbing repairs (sinks, toilets, water heater, and supply lines) with oversight and direction from the maintenance supervisor and provided that the employee has completed the necessary training
• The ability to maintain a clean and organized tool room and maintenance supplies; and, the ability to ensure each work area is properly clean and items appropriately stored.
• The ability to assist with set-up for special events
• The ability to perform other duties as assigned.

WORKING CONDITIONS

• Full time shop exposure.
• Extreme temperatures. (Sometimes due to season).
• No travel requirements.
• Perform work standing up for 8-10 hours per day and up to 6 days a week.
• Good vision, hearing, smell and balance.
• Must be able to frequently lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to stand, bend, stoop, squat or kneel regularly as well as climb stairs and ladders.
