The purpose of a Maintenance Attendant is to perform routine property and equipment repairs, preventative maintenance, monitor utilities, and assist in ensuring the safety of guests and associates in compliance with all corporate, brand standards, and all applicable laws.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Respond courteously and promptly to all guest questions, complaints, or requests.
  2. Perform maintenance and repairs on the interior and exterior of the building, hotel rooms, and contents, including laundry and kitchen/refrigeration equipment, lighting, HVAC, water systems, and pools.
  3. Conduct inspections for preventative maintenance needs.
  4. Ensure security of inventory such as tools, supplies, and equipment.
  5. Replenish supplies efficiently, minimizing waste, and ensure equipment is operational for the next shift.
  6. Complete work orders timely and within specifications.
  7. Record and report repairs and items needing further attention.
  8. Maintain attendance, punctuality, and adherence to work, break, and meal periods.
  9. Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, including adherence to dress code.
  10. Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.
REQUIRED COMPETENCIES:
  1. Quality of work: Accuracy, thoroughness, and monitoring own work for quality.
  2. Productivity: Meeting or exceeding productivity standards efficiently.
  3. Customer Service Skills: Responding to requests, providing high-quality service, and soliciting feedback.
  4. Initiative: Asking for and offering help, involving appropriate people in decisions.
  5. Accountability: Responsibility for actions, independent work, and follow-up reliability.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

Education/Experience: High school diploma or GED, 6 months to 1 year of related experience, or equivalent. Knowledge of carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, painting, HVAC, masonry. Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays.

Language Ability: Ability to read, comprehend, and write simple instructions and memos. Effective in small group presentations.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions.
  • Work near mechanical parts, in high places, and in extreme temperatures.
  • Exposure to cleaning chemicals and noise typical of hotel environments.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
  • Stand or walk most of the time, use hands frequently, reach, stoop, kneel, climb, and balance.
  • Talk and hear often, lift up to 75 lbs.
