Job summary

DoubleTree Rapid City is seeking a maintenance-focused team member to support guest rooms, public spaces and back-of-house areas. You will perform preventive maintenance, repairs and replacements across fixtures, lighting, doors and flooring, ensuring cleanliness and safety in accordance with Hilton standards.

You will troubleshoot building systems, keep accurate records of work orders and stay flexible for weekends, holidays, or emergency calls to support guest comfort and hotel operations.

Qualifications

• Practical experience with building repairs and maintenance.
• Ability to safely operate hand and power tools and interpret work orders.
• Basic troubleshooting and recordkeeping, able to work independently or as part of a team.
• Flexible availability including weekends, holidays, or occasional emergency calls.

Responsibilities

• Inspect guest rooms, public areas and back-of-house spaces for maintenance and appearance needs.

The Engineering team at DoubleTree Rapid City keeps plumbing, electrical, HVAC and other systems operating efficiently through preventive maintenance and regular upkeep. Our guest and client comfort depends on maintaining guest rooms, public spaces, equipment, grounds, and many other areas and an additional staff member is needed now! If you can work as part of a team to provide a safe, attractive, and functional hotel while keeping workspaces, tools, and project organized we want to talk with you!

Everyday Duties:

• Inspect guest rooms, public areas and back-of-house spaces with an eye for seeing maintenance and appearance needs
• Complete preventive maintenance and repairs and replacements including for fixtures, lighting, door hardware, furniture, paint, sealants, flooring
• Troubleshoot and maintain HVAC, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and other building systems
• Use electronic device app to record status of work orders and preventive maintenance items
• Keep a clean and organized work area with tools and supplies that are ready to use and well-stocked
• Notify management of major repair needs, hazards, safety concerns, stock needs, and rooms conditions
• Stay approachable and communicate courteously with guests and hotel departments, following Hilton brand standards
• Assist Banquet department with decor needs in high places, heavy items, wall changes, or other areas where maintenance assistance or guidance is needed

What skills to bring:

• Practical experience with building repairs and maintenance, along with an openness and desire to learn
• Ability to safely operate hand and power tools, interpret work orders and follow equipment and chemical instructions
• Basic troubleshooting and recordkeeping skills, ability to self-manage projects or work as part of a team
• Flexible availability including weekends, holidays, or occasional emergency calls

Demands common to this role:

• Frequent standing, walking, climbing stairs, bending, crouching, reaching, grasping, pushing and pulling.
