Job summary

Hayward Post Acute in Hayward, CA is hiring a Maintenance Assistant to support the Maintenance Department. You will help keep the facility clean, safe, and comfortable while assisting with the operation, repair, and maintenance of boilers, HVAC systems, generators, and related electrical/plumbing equipment.

The role requires a high school diploma and 1-3 years' experience with mechanical systems, plus the ability to read blueprints.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1-3 years’ experience in operation of boilers, compressors, generators and mechanical systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing).
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, wiring schematics, etc.
• Knowledge of building codes, safety regulations, and maintenance practices.
• Licensed in accordance with current applicable standards, codes, labor laws, etc.
• Ability to plan and carry out repair programs, new construction, and equipment installation.
• Ability to control and track direct spending and labor budgets.

As a Maintenance Assistant, you will support the Maintenance Department by ensuring that the facility environment is maintained in a clean, safe, and comfortable manner, following company policies and procedures. You will assist with the operation, repair, and maintenance of boilers, compressors, generators, HVAC systems, electrical and plumbing systems, and other equipment in accordance with federal, state, and local standards.

Must Have:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1-3 years’ experience in the operation of boilers, compressors, generators, and mechanical systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing).
