Job summary

Global Cellulose Fibers (GCF) is seeking an Electrical Instrumentation Maintenance Associate for the New Bern, NC area. The role supports journeymen electricians and instrumentation technicians in routine maintenance and offers hands-on training to prepare you for the next promotion.

The position is hourly full-time with a 7am–3pm day shift (Mon–Fri). Candidates should meet minimum education requirements and be willing to undergo safety, health, and drug screenings as part of the employment

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Minimum high school graduate, GED, or equivalent work experience.
• Eligible for employment in the US.
• One year experience in instrumentation or electrical maintenance OR willingness to undergo testing and assessment.

Responsibilities

• Assist journeymen electricians and instrumentation technicians in routine maintenance work.
• Perform duties independently when required.
• Work safely in an industrial environment and participate in safety programs.

Position Title:

Electrical Instrumentation (EI) Maintenance Associate – New Bern, NC

Pay Rate:

$32.77/hr.

Category/Shift:

Hourly Full-Time

• Days (7am – 3pm Monday – Friday)

This position will assist journeymen-level electricians and instrumentation technicians in routine maintenance work as well as performing many duties independently. About You: Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• At least 18 years of age
• Minimum high school graduate, GED, or equivalent work experience
• Eligible for employment in the US
• Must have one of the following:
  • One (1) year experience in any of the following Maintenance Skill Areas: INSTRUMENTATION, or ELECTRICAL
• OR
• Must be willing to meet the following requirements:
  • Work in industrial conditions (may be warm/hot, dusty/dirty, around hazardous chemicals, noise, heavy machinery, elevated working surfaces, and confined spaces (with proper safety training and safety protection)
  • Undergo technical online testing, interview, and a formal hands-on assessment of skills
  • Undergo a drug screen for illicit use of drugs as a condition of employment
  • Undergo a job-related health assessment as a condition of employment
  • Submit to periodic drug screens as a condition of employment
  • Work any shift and/or a rotating shift schedule
  • Work overtime on a regular basis and with last-minute notification
  • Work holidays and/or weekends on a regular basis
  • Wear required safety equipment

It is preferred that candidates have the following skills and/or experience(s):

• Associates degree or certification(s) in Industrial Maintenance or other related disciplines within instrumentation/electrical.
• Relevant work experience in an industrial environment.
