Job description

Position Purpose

Perform tooling setups for various styles of equipment in the Press Room Department.

Hourly Pay Range: $21.50 - $30.25

Essential Functions
  • Maintain Environmental Health and Safety standards in the workplace.
  • Setup blank, perf, compound, progressive, and forming as needed in the appropriate mechanical or hydraulic press using established setup documentation procedures.
  • Use time efficiently to complete tasks (self‑management).
  • Work independently following written and oral instructions, safety guidelines, work instructions, and company policies.
  • Utilize common inspection tools such as calipers, micrometers, radius gauges, pins, and other measuring tools to confirm critical in‑process or final part dimensions.
  • Adjust press hit, gaging, and/or lubrication to achieve required part dimensions after inspection.
  • Submit first good piece to quality control for verification.
  • After approval, train operators on proper procedures to maintain part quality and minimize tool wear.
  • Maintain dies while in presses.
  • Perform press safety checklist to ensure safe work environment.
  • Perform necessary housekeeping duties.
  • Handle materials using forklift if needed.
Education And Training
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Minimum 3 years of manufacturing experience in die setup and tear down.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Proficiency in reading and understanding blueprints and GD&T tolerance.
  • Good mechanical aptitude.
  • Strong mathematical ability to apply to tasks such as calculation of shut height.
Physical Demands
  • Considerable movement required.
  • Lift up to 50 pounds.
  • May sit, stand, or bend for extended periods.
  • Work in a dynamic manufacturing environment requiring the ability to "think on your feet".
  • Eye protection required at all times.
  • Hearing protection required; double hearing protection required while working in the Press Room.
  • Exposure to hot and cold temperatures.
  • Exposure to noisy conditions.
  • Steel‑toe boots with metatarsal protection required at all times.
