What You’ll do
The purpose of the Maintenance Associate is to ensure the cleanliness, safety, and overall upkeep of our store environment, including the inside and outside of the building. Your attention to detail and proactive approach to maintenance activities will contribute to creating a positive shopping experience for our customers and a well-maintained workplace for our staff.
- Perform routine cleaning and maintenance activities to uphold the store’s appearance and hygiene standards.
- Sweep, mop, and operate the floor scrubber regularly to keep surfaces clean and safe.
- Empty trash receptacles and replace garbage bags to maintain a tidy environment.
- Clean and disinfect restrooms and breakrooms, ensuring they are well-stocked with essential supplies.
- Wipe down surfaces such as counters, display shelves, and fixtures to maintain a polished and organized presentation.
- Conduct basic repairs, such as changing light bulbs, fixing minor plumbing issues, and repairing damaged fixtures.
- Monitor and report safety hazards, malfunctioning equipment, or maintenance needs to the supervisor.
- Assist in store activities like unloading trucks, stocking, or zoning merchandise when possible.
- Maintain an uncluttered exterior by managing parking lot cleanliness and trash removal.
- Operate a floor scrubber proficiently.
- Participate in cross-training for flexibility across departments.
- Engage in learning initiatives such as training programs, workshops, and webinars to acquire new skills and stay current.
- Provide friendly, proactive, and professional support to internal and external customers and staff.

Essential Qualities for Success
- At least 3 years of retail cashier or supervisory experience, or equivalent education and experience.
- Meticulous attention to detail and strong math skills for accurate cash handling.
- Ability to review and analyze information thoroughly, identifying errors or inconsistencies.
- Excellent communication skills to implement policies, direct staff, and serve customers.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for clear conveyance of ideas and instructions.
- Active listening skills, with the ability to ask relevant questions and provide thorough responses.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Comfortable navigating computer systems and software to assist customers or manage activities.
- Flexibility to work a 40-hour week with varied hours, including days, nights, and weekends as needed.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand or sit for extended periods.
- Ability to lift, push, and/or pull a minimum of 30 pounds repeatedly, and 31-50 pounds intermittently.
- Ability to navigate and access all facilities.
- Effective verbal communication skills, both in person and electronically.
- Close vision for computer-related tasks.
