Job summary

The Orchards is seeking a dependable Maintenance Assistant to help keep our buildings, equipment, and grounds in excellent condition. You will assist with day-to-day maintenance, repairs, and upkeep to ensure a safe, comfortable environment for residents and staff.

We value hands-on, safety-conscious individuals who can work independently or as part of a team, with opportunity to contribute to painting, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and grounds work across the facilities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous maintenance or general repair experience preferred.
• Experience with building maintenance, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, grounds maintenance, or general repairs preferred.
• Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
• Ability to prioritize and complete multiple tasks.
• Ability to communicate professionally with residents, families, staff, vendors, and contractors.
• Ability to safely use maintenance tools and equipment.
• Ability to work both indoors and outdoors.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• The Maintenance Assistant assists with the day-to-day maintenance, repair, cleaning, and upkeep of The Orchards Facilities.
• This position performs a variety of general maintenance tasks, including painting, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, grounds maintenance, cleaning, and general repairs.
• The Maintenance Assistant will respond to facility maintenance needs, assist with special projects, maintain a safe and clean environment, and help ensure the facility remains well-maintained and comfortable for our residents and staff.
• The ideal candidate is dependable, hands-on, safety-conscious, and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
