Maintenance Assistant - Full Time (Maintenance)
Ensure maintenance schedules are followed as outlined for each shift or area. Report all accidents/incidents to your supervisor, regardless of severity, on the shift they occur. Coordinate daily maintenance services with nursing staff when performing routine tasks in resident living areas. Perform other related duties as directed by your supervisor, department director, or administrator.
Maintain confidentiality of resident's protected health information and report any violations promptly. Attend departmental and staff meetings as scheduled or called. Follow work assignments and established maintenance policies and procedures.
Perform routine maintenance on grounds, parking areas, driveways, including tasks like cutting, trimming, sweeping, and policing as directed. Conduct repairs on the facility and equipment, such as plumbing, plastering, electrical, carpentry, and mechanical tasks, in accordance with established procedures. Clean windows and screens, replace burned-out lights, and perform cleaning duties as needed.
Service heating and cooling units/systems following manufacturer instructions and policies. Complete unscheduled maintenance tasks when directed. Replenish maintenance supplies in work areas as necessary. Ensure the facility and its equipment are maintained for resident comfort and convenience.
Report equipment malfunctions or breakdowns promptly. Follow safety precautions when performing tasks and using equipment. Assist with lifting heavy equipment or supplies as needed. Clean and store equipment properly at the end of each shift.
Maintain the confidentiality of all resident care information, including protected health information. Report any unauthorized disclosures. Inform residents when it is necessary to move their personal possessions.
Supervisory Requirements: This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Qualifications:
Physical Demands: Must occasionally lift/move up to 25 pounds. Prolonged use of computers. Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk, read, or hear. May need to assist in resident evacuation during emergencies.
Work Environment: Noise level is usually low to moderate. Reasonable accommodations can be made for individuals with disabilities.
