Job summary

NHC HealthCare Lexington is seeking a detail‑oriented Maintenance Assistant to help keep our West Columbia facility safe, comfortable, and well‑maintained for patients, residents, and staff. This hands‑on role spans indoor and outdoor work, varied projects, and a chance to make a real difference in a healthcare setting.

You’ll join a team that values reliability and practical skills, performing inspections, repairs, groundskeeping, and on‑call maintenance with a focus on safety and efficient

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals.
• Familiarity with local building codes, ordinances, and safety regulations.
• Ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, bend, and climb; capable of heavy lifting.
• Willingness to work indoors and outdoors in all weather.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, care for, maintain, and repair facility property, grounds, and equipment.
• Assist in planning and executing repair, maintenance, and new installation/construction projects.
• Perform routine groundskeeping and heavy custodial duties.
• Monitor facility systems, ensuring everything functions safely and efficiently.
• Participate in a rotating on-call weekend schedule and respond promptly to emergency maintenance calls.

What You’ll Do (Key Responsibilities)
