Job summary
NHC HealthCare Lexington in West Columbia, SC is seeking a Maintenance Assistant to keep our facility safe, comfortable, and well-maintained for patients, residents, and staff.
This role involves indoor and outdoor work, repairing and maintaining property, planning projects, groundskeeping, and responding to on-call maintenance requests on a rotating weekend schedule.
Qualifications
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals.
- Familiarity with local building codes, ordinances, and safety regulations.
- Must be capable of heavy lifting and moving.
- Willingness to work indoors and outdoors in all weather.
Responsibilities
- Inspect, care for, maintain, and repair facility property, grounds, and equipment.
- Assist in planning and executing repair, maintenance, and new installation/construction projects.
- Perform routine groundskeeping and heavy custodial duties.
- Monitor facility systems, ensuring everything functions safely and efficiently.
- Participate in a rotating on-call weekend schedule and respond promptly to emergency maintenance calls.

- Inspect, care for, maintain, and repair facility property, grounds, and equipment.
