Primary Function

Perform maintenance and upkeep of all Elk Hill Farm Inc. properties and grounds.

Primary Responsibilities

• Assist in maintenance of all buildings including painting and repairs
• Assist in maintenance of all equipment including heating systems, air conditioning systems, plumbing, electrical, furnishings and grounds equipment
• Utilize mobile repair vehicle to visit satellite sites to complete repairs
• Be available on an emergency basis to provide maintenance needs
• Attend staff meetings when necessary to stay in tune with maintenance needs
• Perform landscaping and grounds maintenance needs including the use of applicable and necessary equipment
• Perform other duties specified by the Facilities Supervisor, Director of Administrative Services, or CEO

• Extent to which properties are maintained in a capable, efficient and timely manner
• Extent to which pleasant and cooperative relationships are maintained with staff and public
  
  

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• Prior experience in heating and air conditioning repair, plumbing, carpentry, electrical and mechanical, painting, and roofing maintenance preferred
• Prior experience operating proper equipment preferred
• Valid Virginia driver’s license and a good driving record
• Ability to travel to Elk Hill’s various facilities and locations
• Positive safety record
• Must demonstrate sensitivity to Elk Hill’s service population’s cultural and socioeconomic characteristics
  
  

Physical Requirements

• Good general health with ability to lift up to 50 pounds at a time
• Must be able to traverse property and access and navigate all areas of the facilities
• Must be able to access all parts of the company equipment
• Must be able to work in various weather conditions and in various outdoor and indoor conditions
