Job summary

KETTLER INC. is seeking an entry-level Maintenance Assistant for Tysons Crossing in Vienna, VA. The role involves general maintenance, repairs in units and buildings, and responding to resident service requests under the Maintenance Manager.

This position offers a compensation of $28 per hour with benefits including PTO, health/dental/vision, life insurance, HSA/FSA, and a 401(k) with company match. On-call responsibilities include nights and weekends on a rotating basis.

Qualifications

• EPA/CFC Type I & II certification preferred; must obtain within 180 days.
• Basic knowledge of appliance, electrical, and plumbing repair.
• Valid driver’s license and live within 30 minutes of the property.
• Outstanding customer service with timely responses to residents.
• Responsible for after-hours emergency maintenance calls; nights/weekends on rotation.
• Reliable personal transportation for on-call emergencies.
• Cell phone required for on-call maintenance.
• Ability to use a computer.
• Good English communication, verbal and written.
• Ability to walk grounds, climb stairs, lift 60 lbs, climb ladders over 10 feet.

Responsibilities

• Handle multiple residential service requests daily.
• Respond to maintenance needs in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and appliance repair; escalate when needed.
• Participate in all maintenance projects.
• Prepare vacant units for market readiness with turnover repairs.
• Perform preventive maintenance on all systems at the property.
• Repair general property grounds, apartments, and building exteriors.
• Provide courteous, responsive service to residents and colleagues.
• Fulfill other duties as assigned.

Overview

KETTLER currently has an opening for an entry level Maintenance Assistant at Tysons Crossing, located in Vienna, Virginia. If you have a good work ethic, a passion for helping people, and want an opportunity to learn and grow, KETTLER is the place for you.

The Maintenance Assistant, under the direction of the Maintenance Manager, is responsible for general maintenance, repairs in apartments and buildings, and responding to service requests of residents.

Compensation: $28/hr

Responsibilities

• Handle multiple residential service requests daily.
• Responding to resident requests for maintenance and service within the areas of HVAC, electrical, plumbing and appliance repair by troubleshooting the problem and taking appropriate action to repair and/or restore service within the quality and time standards established by the organization; escalates problem to supervisor or outside contractor as necessary.
• Participating in all maintenance projects.
• Prepare vacant units for market ready status through turn-over repairs and improvements.
• Preventive maintenance repair on all systems at the property.
• Performing general repair of property grounds, apartments, and building exteriors.
• Demonstrating customer services skills by treating residents and others with respect, answering resident questions, responding sensitively to complaints about maintenance services, and completing assigned work orders with efficiency and urgency.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Some basic knowledge of appliance, electrical, and plumbing repair.
• Valid Driver’s License and must live within 30 minutes of the property.
• Outstanding customer service and focus on providing residents with timely and accurate responses.
• Must be responsible for taking calls for after hour’s emergency maintenance; including nights and weekends on a rotational basis.
• Must have personal/reliable transportation to get to work in order to respond to on-call emergencies as they occur.
• Must carry a cell phone as required for on-call maintenance.
• Ability to use a computer.
• Good English communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to walk the grounds and apartments, ascend stairs around the property, lift 60 lbs., climb ladders over 10 feet, and perform other general physical activities.
