Job summary

Award Care is seeking a Maintenance Assistant to support our resident-focused community in Sarasota. The role involves maintaining grounds, facilities, and equipment safely and efficiently in line with applicable standards and regulations.

You will work with nursing staff on daily maintenance tasks and contribute to a positive, well-maintained living environment. The ideal candidate is team-oriented, driven, and dedicated to delivering high-quality service for residents.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Two years' experience as a building trade helper or equivalent preferred.
• Candidates should be compassionate and dedicated to a job well done.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily maintenance services with nursing staff during routine tasks.
• Assist with repairs, preventive maintenance, refurbishing projects, and moving furniture/equipment.
• Maintain the facility grounds.
• Ensure facility and equipment are maintained for resident comfort and convenience.
• Assist with safety inspections, tests, and drills.
• Contribute to improvements in systems and processes.

Major Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily maintenance services with nursing services when performing routine assignments in resident living areas.
• Assist with all repairs, preventative maintenance, refurbishing projects, and furniture/equipment moving.
• Maintain the facility ground.
• Ensure that the facility and its equipment are properly maintained for resident comfort and convenience.
• Assist with safety inspections, tests, and drills, as requested.
• Provide innovative, responsible healthcare with the creation and implementation of new ideas and concepts that continually improve systems and processes to achieve superior results.

Qualifications

• Must possess, as a minimum, a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Two (2) years' experience as a building trade helper, apprentice or equivalent preferred.
• You must be qualified, compassionate, and dedicated to a job well done.
