Job summary

Optalis Healthcare is seeking a Maintenance Assistant to support facility safety and operations through general repair and upkeep of the building, grounds, and equipment. You will help ensure compliance with Life Safety Code, OSHA, and CMS requirements to provide a safe environment for residents, staff, and visitors.

The role involves routine maintenance across plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting; assist with snow removal, landscaping, and facility setup; respond to maintenance requests

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in healthcare or long-term care maintenance is preferred.
• Basic knowledge of maintenance, repairs, and safety protocols.

• Perform routine maintenance tasks including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and painting.
• Assist with snow removal, landscaping, and seasonal facility upkeep.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergencies.
• Support safety and fire drills, ensuring equipment and systems are functional.
• Assist with moving furniture, equipment, and completing facility set-ups as needed.

Required:

Preferred:

Physical & Work Requirements

• Frequent bending, stooping, and lifting (80--300 lbs with assistance/equipment).
• Work indoors and outdoors in varying conditions.
• Exposure to noise, dust, and cleaning chemicals with PPE provided.
