Job summary

Absolut Care of Three Rivers – Painted Post, NY is seeking a Maintenance Assistant to support the maintenance department, performing routine checks and repairs under supervision. The role requires adherence to facility policies, teamwork with the environmental services director, and attention to safety.

Day/evening shifts with a $16–$17 hourly rate, weekly pay, and benefits for eligible staff. Ideal candidates have a high school or technical training and English communication skills; related

Qualifications

• High school or technical school preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Related experience preferred.
• Must meet health assessment requirements, including two stage Mantoux skin test.
• Must be able to communicate in English, both verbally and in writing.

Responsibilities

• Carries out and follows all facility policies and procedures in regard to the operation of the maintenance department.
• Acts appropriately under the direction of the Maintenance Supervisor or Director of Environmental Services and as part of the interdisciplinary team.
• Performs routine checks on major systems such as auxiliary generator, fire alarms, door alarms, nurse call system and departmental equipment.
• Conducts periodic inspections of the building.
• Corrects all damages to hallways, walls, ceiling, floors, roof, and resident rooms as assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor.
• Assists with the performance of any or all duties concerned with electrical, plumbing, painting, carpentry, including furniture refinishing or repair, mechanics including equipment and mechanical systems, heating, cooling, and water systems; except those services performed under outside service contracts.
• Maintains outside yard and sidewalks including mowing, trimming, raking, salting, shoveling and sanding.
• Services all mechanical equipment as assigned.
• Demonstrates knowledge of the fire alarm and nurse call systems.

Education

High school diploma or technical training

18+ years of age

English communication skills

Related maintenance experience preferred
