The Industrial Maintenance and Facilities Technician is responsible for maintaining the equipment, machinery, and facilities that support our manufacturing operations. This is a hands-on position requiring strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills, a proactive approach to preventive maintenance, and the ability to respond quickly to equipment and facility needs.
The ideal candidate is an experienced industrial maintenance professional who takes ownership of equipment reliability, minimizes downtime, and helps maintain a safe, efficient, and well-maintained manufacturing environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain manufacturing equipment and facility systems.
- Perform preventive maintenance to improve equipment reliability and minimize production downtime.
- Diagnose electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and basic controls issues.
- Maintain and support CNC equipment, lasers, press brakes, welding equipment, robotic weld cells, powder-coat systems, compressors, and material-handling equipment.
- Respond to equipment breakdowns and complete safe and timely repairs.
- Maintain facility systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, lighting, doors, docks, and general building infrastructure.
- Assist with equipment installation, relocation, startup, and facility improvement projects.
- Coordinate outside contractors and service providers when specialized repairs or inspections are required.
- Maintain accurate preventive maintenance, repair, and equipment service records.
- Maintain critical spare parts and maintenance supplies needed to support operations.
- Identify and recommend improvements related to equipment reliability, safety, efficiency, and cost.
- Maintain clean and organized maintenance areas, tools, and equipment.
- Follow all company safety procedures, including lockout/tagout, electrical safety, machine guarding, PPE, and safe work practices.
- Perform other maintenance and facility-related duties as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or GED required; technical school, apprenticeship, or industrial maintenance training preferred.
- Previous industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
- Working knowledge of motors, controls, bearings, mechanical power transmission, pneumatics, hydraulics, HVAC, and plumbing.
- Ability to read electrical schematics, equipment manuals, drawings, and technical documentation.
- Experience using hand tools, power tools, multimeters, and common diagnostic equipment.
- Strong problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize repairs, and follow through on preventive maintenance requirements.
- Basic computer skills for maintenance records, work orders, manuals, and parts research.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience with PLC-controlled equipment, VFDs, sensors, relays, robotics, CNC equipment, and automated manufacturing systems.
- Experience maintaining fabrication, welding, powder-coat, compressed-air, dust-collection, or material-handling equipment.
- HVAC, electrical, welding, forklift, or industrial maintenance certifications.
- Experience developing and managing preventive maintenance programs.
- Experience coordinating contractors, vendors, and equipment service providers.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and frequently bend, kneel, climb, reach, and work around industrial equipment.
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to safely work from ladders and lifts.
- Ability to work in indoor and outdoor environments with varying temperatures and noise levels.
- Ability to wear required PPE and safely work around manufacturing equipment and processes.
- Regular on-site attendance is required. Occasional overtime or after-hours response may be necessary for urgent maintenance needs.

Starting Salary: $25-$35/hour or higher depending on experience.
