Job summary

Diversicare, based in Alabama, seeks a skilled Maintenance Technician to support our post-acute care facilities. You will perform preventative maintenance, repairs, and safety tests on building systems, coordinating with department managers to keep operations running smoothly.

The ideal candidate has HVAC repair experience, basic electrical/plumbing skills, and knowledge of safety regulations. High school diploma or GED required; basic computer literacy and a resident-first attitude are

Qualifications

• HVAC repair experience demonstrated.
• Intermediate electrical and plumbing repair skills desired.
• Knowledge of water heaters, generators, and refrigeration is a plus.
• Familiarity with building codes and safety regulations.
• High school or GED completion; ability to read, write and follow directions.
• Basic computer literacy and resident-centered attitude.

Responsibilities

• Performs preventative maintenance and maintains records as instructed.
• Performs building and equipment repairs per work orders.
• Conducts fire safety equipment tests under regional guidance.
• Inspects building systems and logs findings.
• Coordinates maintenance services with department managers to ensure operation.
• Performs basic carpentry, drywall, painting as needed to maintain appearance.
• Keeps building in good repair and compliant with laws.
• Follows safety rules and procedures; orders supplies and maintains records.
• May drive company or personal vehicle for business; maintains resident confidentiality with respect.

Responsibilities

• Performs preventative maintenance and maintains maintenance records as instructed.
• Perform building and equipment repairs, as per work order requests.
• Performs fire safety equipment tests under the guidance of the Regional Maintenance Director.
• Inspects building systems as scheduled and log findings.
• Coordinate maintenance services with department managers to ensure building and equipment performance without interruption.
• Performs basic carpentry, drywall, flooring and painting as required to maintain favorable building appearance.
• Maintains the building in good repair and in compliance with local, state and federal laws.
• Follows established safety rules and Policies & Procedures of building.
• Order equipment and supplies as necessary; and maintain proper records of repairs and purchases.
• May be required to drive for company business with either company vehicle personal vehicle
• Maintain resident confidentiality; treat residents with kindness, dignity and respect

Qualifications

• Must have demonstrated HVAC repair experience.
• Intermediate skillset in electric and plumbing repair highly desired.
• Knowledge of water heaters, generators commercial kitchen equipment and refrigeration would be a plus but not required.
• Knowledge of building codes, safety regulations and blueprint interpretation.
• Completion of High School/GED education or otherwise show ability to read, write and follow oral and written directions.
• Basic computerliteracy
• Positive attitude toward the elderly
