Job summary

National Health Care Associates in Marlborough, CT invites you to join our team as a Maintenance Assistant. Your work will support the upkeep of our facility and play a vital role in residents’ safety and comfort through reliable repairs and preventive maintenance.

You will collaborate with nursing, housekeeping, and administration to address maintenance needs, handle plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and carpentry tasks, and help sustain a safe, welcoming environment that families value.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or certification in maintenance or related field preferred.
  • Experience in building maintenance, facilities management, or related field, preferably in healthcare.
  • Knowledge of basic maintenance principles, techniques, and tools, with proficiency in plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and carpentry repairs.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and work independently with minimal supervision, while maintaining a strong attention to detail and quality standards.
  • Commitment to safety standards, regulatory compliance, and ethical conduct in all aspects of maintenance operations.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with routine maintenance tasks, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and carpentry repairs.
  • Help maintain the exterior grounds of the facility, including landscaping, lawn care, snow removal, and outdoor maintenance.
  • Perform regular inspections and maintenance on facility equipment, such as elevators, generators, and fire safety systems.
  • Maintain inventory of maintenance supplies, tools, and equipment, monitoring usage and replenishing stock as needed.
  • Collaborate with other departments, including nursing, housekeeping, and administration, to address maintenance-related issues and resident requests.

What You'll Do:

As a Maintenance Assistant, you will assist with the maintenance and upkeep of our facility. Your work will play a vital role in ensuring the physical well-being and safety of our residents

Key Responsibilities for a Maintenance Assistant:
  • Assist with routine maintenance tasks, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and carpentry repairs, to ensure the proper functioning of equipment and systems throughout the facility
  • Help maintain the exterior grounds of the facility, including landscaping, lawn care, snow removal, and outdoor maintenance, to create a safe and aesthetically pleasing environment for residents, staff, and visitors
  • Perform regular inspections and maintenance on facility equipment, such as elevators, generators, and fire safety systems, to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and the safety of residents and staff
  • Maintain inventory of maintenance supplies, tools, and equipment, monitoring usage and replenishing stock as needed to support maintenance operations and minimize downtime
  • Collaborate with other departments, including nursing, housekeeping, and administration, to address maintenance-related issues, respond to resident requests, and support the overall functioning of the facility
