Job summary

Responsibilities

• Assist in troubleshooting leaks, stoppages, and inadequate supply or faulty operations of water, steam, gas, and airlines; perform repairs to prevent recurrence.
• Maintain a safe environment in the shop by cleaning and maintaining the area.
• Assist cleaning the plaza, painting, staining, varnishing, fixing light fixtures, and emergency lights testing.

Description

Requirements

• Be at least 16 years of age (18 years of age for maintenance department)
• Current enrollment at Kansas State University
• Non-university student: Current enrollment in high school or an accredited college or university
• Enrolled in no fewer than six credit hours
• Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
• Basic computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
• Organizational and time management skills

SKILLS AND ABILITIES/PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to remain on feet for long periods of time while having to bend repeatedly.
• Ability to understand verbal and written instructions.
• Visual acuity and finger dexterity to operate equipment.
• Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
