St. Agnes Home in Kirkwood, MO is looking for a Maintenance Assistant to join a peaceful, family‑oriented environment.

This full‑time 40‑hour position supports routine and preventive maintenance to keep the building in good condition and to promote a safe living space for residents. The role requires a high school diploma or GED, maintenance experience preferred, and the ability to follow written and verbal instructions for a wide range of tasks, from carpentry to plumbing and lawn care.

The Maintenance Assistant assists in routine and extensive preventive maintenance needed to keep the building's infrastructure in working condition. Promotes a positive and safe environment for residents.

We require:

• High School Diploma or GED preferred
• Maintenance experience preferred
• Dedicated to the principle of providing improved quality of life to the residents
• Capable of following written and verbal instructions in the following maintenance / repair work:
  • furniture refinishing painting carpentry
  • carpet laying plumbing air conditioning systems
  • electricity flooring / ceilings / roofing small appliances
  • mower maintenance sprinkler / fire alarm systems
  • automobile / golf cart maintenance
  • generator maintenance plant / shrub maintenance
  • freezer / cooler maintenance
• Capable of following written and verbal instructions in the safe preparation, application, and storage of all chemicals used in the Department
• Capable of following written and verbal instructions in the safe operation of: electric drill, electric saw, lawnmower,Hilti /ramset gun, weed eater, chain saw, belt sander, electric hedge trimmer
• Good observation skills
• Flexible hours

You must also:

• Must successfully pass the Department of Health and Senior Services (DHSS) criminal background check.
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen.
• Must be able to provide applicable documentation(s) for I-9 in order to establish identity and authorization to work in the US.
• Must have valid driver's license, personal automobile liability insurance, and acceptable driving record (if required to drive).
