Job summary

Arc at Kankakee is seeking a Maintenance Assistant to support planning, organizing, developing, and directing the Maintenance Department’s operations to keep the facility safe and comfortable.

Key duties include repairing facility and resident property, coordinating with other departments and vendors, and supervising safety and fire protection programs to maintain a safe environment.

Qualifications

• Must possess a high school education or its equivalent.
• Knowledge of boilers, compressors, generators and various mechanical, electrical & plumbing systems.
• Knowledge of building codes and safety regulations.

Position Summary:

The primary purpose of the Maintenance Assistant is to assist in planning, organizing, developing, and directing the overall operation of the Maintenance Department to assure that our facility is maintained in a safe and comfortable manner.

Essential Duties:

· Repair facility/resident property; coordinate maintenance services and activities with other related departments; inspect facility for upkeep and supply control; and coordinate with outside vendors.

· Supervise safety and fire protection and prevention programs; inspect work areas and equipment; and ensure that supplies, equipment, etc., are maintained and utilized to provide a safe and comfortable environment.
