We are looking to add a facility and maintenance assistant to our team who will assist the lead maintenance technician in maintaining our property and in maintaining a beautiful establishment that we all can be proud of. This individual would need to have or be willing to learn a wide range of skills that would allow them to repair minor issues and assist in managing bigger maintenance projects. Please review the list of responsibilities and qualifications for a more extensive list of required knowledge and skills needed to be successful in this role. While this is our ideal list, we will consider candidates that do not necessarily have all of the qualifications but have sufficient experience and talent.
Responsibilities:
- Repair major and minor issues with equipment and buildings
- Complete maintenance and repair work orders, in a timely fashion
- Order and replace broken parts or equipment
- Maintain a clean and a safe workspace
- Perform other duties, as assigned
- Actively seek out needed repairs and conduct repairs to fences, gates, walls, and walks, using carpentry and masonry tools.
- May paint fences and outbuildings
- Actively seek out and conduct needed maintenance and cleanliness of interior and exterior areas of buildings
- Keep areas around commercial solid waste and recycling containers clean
- Dispose of all waste properly - especially any special or hazardous wastes
- Change light bulbs, and air filters
- Check completed work to ensure that it meets quality standards
- Work safely, and comply with all safety rules
- Wear required protective equipment: gloves, safety glasses, etc.
- Report any accidents immediately
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in maintenance or other related fields (Preferred)
- Familiarity with hand-held tools and equipment (Required)
- Deadline and detail-oriented (Required)
- Ability to handle physical workload and lift 50 pounds without injury (Required)
- Ability to work on your feet for long periods of time (8-10 hours shifts as needed) (Required)
- Experience with repairing machinery and working with electrical work (Preferred)
- Demonstrated ability to work without close supervision (Required)
- Demonstrated ability to do both major and minor repairs to buildings (Preferred)
- Demonstrated ability to manage property improvement projects effectively (Preferred)
- Ability to use proper equipment and cleaning techniques (Required)
