Job description

The Maintenance Assistant at the University of Arkansas Community College at Hope-Texarkana is responsible for maintaining buildings, grounds, and equipment. This position reports to the Director of Physical Plant and involves various tasks such as minor repairs, landscaping, vehicle maintenance, and assisting with campus events.

Responsibilities include:

• Making minor repairs to buildings and facilities
• Maintaining furniture and equipment
• Using skills in plumbing, carpentry, electrical, and mechanical work
• Landscaping tasks like planting flowers and mowing grass
• Operating small engines and lawn equipment
• Vehicle maintenance and record keeping
• Performing minor HVAC repairs
• Delivering mail and packages around campus
• Assisting with event setup and other duties as assigned

Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent plus one year of experience or training in building trades, landscaping, or mechanical maintenance.

Salary: $27,500 per year
