Qualifications

• Complete work orders from residents and staff.
• Perform minor repairs on appliances and fixtures.

Position Summary

The Maintenance Assistant provides quality maintenance services to maintain the community’s standards of cleanliness, safety, and appearance, in accordance with all laws, regulations, and company standards. Reports to the Maintenance Director.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum of one (1) year maintenance experience
• Proven knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems preferred
• Knowledge of local building codes and ordinances preferred

Primary Job Responsibilities

• Assist with maintenance programs for heating, cooling, water, gas, electrical, mechanical, grounds, carpentry, painting, sprinklers, fire alarms, plumbing, building exteriors, etc.
• Identify repairs or replacements needed in apartments, common areas, landscaping, signage, sidewalks, etc.
• Complete work orders from residents and staff
• Perform minor repairs on appliances and fixtures
• Prepare apartments for residency, including repairs and painting
• Assist with preventive maintenance and energy conservation efforts
• Advise supervisor on equipment repairs and supplies
• Handle special projects and routine cleaning tasks
• Assist with groundskeeping, landscaping, and snow removal
• Support floor maintenance and resident move-ins/outs
