Job summary

Camellia Gardens Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation, part of the Alliance Health Group family, seeks a dependable Maintenance Assistant to join our full‑time team. You’ll help keep resident rooms and common areas safe, clean, and well‑functioning, supporting a comfortable living environment.

Daily tasks include painting, basic repairs, safety checks, and coordinating with vendors to maintain building, grounds, and equipment.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred or equivalent work experience.
  • Demonstrated painting and basic maintenance skills.
  • Basic knowledge of general building maintenance and repairs.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality work.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Professional, dependable and team‑oriented.
  • Ability to communicate with residents, staff and vendors.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with repairs and maintenance throughout the facility, including resident rooms and common areas.
  • Perform painting and touch‑up projects as needed.
  • Help maintain a safe environment while renovating or preparing resident rooms.
  • Follow safety rules, department policies, and procedures.
  • Assist with maintaining building, grounds, equipment, and systems in good working condition.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including painting, carpentry, changing light bulbs, and basic repairs.
  • Identify and report potential safety hazards or maintenance concerns.
  • Assist with monthly inspections of the building, grounds, and facility equipment.
  • Help ensure the facility remains compliant with safety, building, and maintenance requirements.
  • Assist with fire safety programs and drills.
  • Coordinate outside repair, maintenance, and construction services when needed.
  • Perform exterior cleaning duties, including washing windows and screens.
  • Keep maintenance areas clean, organized, and safe.
  • Review daily work orders and prioritize maintenance requests.
  • Assist with preventive maintenance schedules and routine inspections.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation.
  • Respond to facility maintenance needs and emergencies as directed.

What You’ll Do

What We’re Looking For
  • High school diploma or GED preferred, or equivalent related work experience
