Job summary

Marcell Post Acute, located in Hampton, VA, seeks a Maintenance Assistant to help keep the facility safe, functional, and welcoming for residents and staff. The role emphasizes daily rounds, basic repairs, and collaboration with care teams in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1+ year of general maintenance experience.
• Skilled nursing facility experience preferred.
• Basic understanding of safety procedures and maintenance best practices.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Responsibilities

• Complete daily physical rounds throughout the facility to identify and address maintenance needs and safety concerns.
• Perform minor plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and cosmetic repairs to facility systems and equipment.
• Review maintenance request logs regularly and complete work orders accurately and promptly.
• Collaborate with staff to support improvements in resident living spaces and overall facility environment.
• Assist with furniture moves, equipment repairs, and general maintenance projects as assigned.
• Troubleshoot and resolve maintenance issues promptly and efficiently to support resident safety and comfort.
• Ensure all work is completed in accordance with safety standards, facility policies, and regulatory requirements.
