Maintenance Assistant

About Us...

At McCann Manchester, we’re a creative agency with a unique environment, including an onsite pub, bistro, gym, and extensive grounds. We work with some of the UK’s most interesting brands and are looking for a Maintenance Assistant to join our team.

The Role of a Maintenance Assistant:

Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, you will perform general maintenance repairs and tasks across our property and grounds, including reactive and planned preventative maintenance. The role requires flexibility for some out-of-hours work and travel to other offices, so a full driving license is essential.

• Support urgent and unexpected site requirements across all locations.
• Handle electrical issues such as changing bulbs, checking cross-phasing, using extension leads, and monitoring PAT.
• Follow maintenance schedules and plan preventative maintenance.
• Perform minor joinery, electrical, and air conditioning work.
• Maintain heating boilers and inspect/clean roofs and gutters.
• Maintain and monitor the swimming pool, ensuring COSHH compliance and record-keeping.
• Report pest issues, assist with office moves, and support health and safety initiatives.
• Cover for the Maintenance Supervisor during absences and be available for out-of-hours work.
• Assist with grounds maintenance and recycling efforts, and support kitchen and office facilities.

Additional duties may be assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor as needed.

Candidate Requirements:

• Ability to perform manual tasks, including manual handling.
• Knowledge of joinery, plumbing, and related skills.
• Ability to understand instructions, both written and verbal.
• Friendly, proactive, and customer service oriented.

Preferred Experience:

• Previous experience in a facilities environment is highly desirable.
